Il toponimo “Suretta” è di chiara origine neolatina, derivando da super, cioè superiore. Su questa montagna la neve assume spesso sembianze “patagoniche”. Molto probabilmente ciò è dovuto alla particolare esposizione alle forti precipitazioni, a venti violenti e ai frequenti periodi di nebbia…
