This panorama is a close relative of N.17759 and of his neighbours. In this new situation I played the organ in Luserna until eleven, but as soon as I left the church a heavy rain started. I had to wait a good while, because cycling down the steep road to the valley under too much rain is not a good idea - both the cyclist and the brakes do not like it. However, I was rewarded this original atmosphere at the classical Belvedere.
Another companion to this image is N.10449 on PPH, whose standpoint I have incorporated in the description. I cannot do the converse, since the standpoint of this one is slightly beyond the right margin of the other one.

According to my opinion, however, given the bicycle ascent from 400 to 1500 m with 12% stretches, the main technical datum is the weight of the Manfrotto 190 tripod, namely 2.3 kg.
For information, in Lightroom 4 I then used +1.80 exposure and +70 shadows - I can only imagine the halos that I would have obtained in Lightroom 3 with a comparable amount of Fill Light! I wanted to see if one could distinguish, down in the valley, the different fields, without clipping the villages. And in the Panoramio version (not in the midnight reality, of course, unless you are Lynceus der Türmer from Goethe's Faust) this is indeed possible. But please do not check on Panoramio if you are a serious photographer; for example I left inside a lot of noise, because I like noisy photos.
The question behind the experiment was: having a sensor with 14 bit depth is it worth to put time and efforts into activities like bracketing? The answer I arrived to is: No, if it is midnight and you are only halfway, and moreover the sky looks out very heavy, it is far better to go home. (As before, don't listen to me if you are a serious photographer!)
