La Cima di Plator Occidentale 2937 m, è certamente una delle vette meno conosciute e frequentate, fra tutte quelle appartenenti alla Provincia di Sondrio. Durante la salita del 31 Luglio 2010 (effettuata con Giovanni Rovedatti), non abbiamo notato la benché minima traccia del passaggio di altri esseri umani. Solo stambecchi e camosci, padroni assoluti di questi luoghi… Nemmeno la cuspide estrema porta alla sua sommità la minima traccia di altre salite. La friabilità della roccia unita alle difficoltà alpinistiche della stessa (II°), la inesistenza di relazioni alpinistiche aggiornate e attendibili ci hanno addirittura posto l’interrogativo se qualche altro essere umano sia mai salito lassù; sulle rocce sommitali della Plator…
