Punta dell'Aquila is a rounded summit standing at the end of the dividing chain between the upper Val Sangone and the lower Val Chisone.
Due to the easy walk up to the top and to the wide panorama, l'Aquila (as it is more commonly referred to) is a popular destination for hikers and touring skiers looking for a brief and rewarding workout.
The view from the top sweeps over the plain surrounding the city of Turin, which often happens to be covered with a thick fog in this season. On clear days most of the western range of the Alps is visible, including the Monte Rosa group and the Matterhorn in the distance.

Nikon D80 + 18-70@60mm. 24 pictures, handheld.
