Location: Becca di Traversiere (3337 m)      by: Andrea Rolando
Area: Grajische Alpen      Date: 11/08/2011
Becca di Traversiere stands between Val di Rhemes and Valgrisenche, in the Italian region of Valle d'Aosta, and the French Tarentaise valley. This wild and vast corner is utterly comprised into the borders of Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso and Parc National de la Vanoise, that combined make up one of the largest protected area in the Alps and in whole Europe.
Becca di Traversiere can be easily accessed from both Val di Rhemes and Valgrisenche, and it is a classic and rewarding addition to the popular trail that links Benevolo and Bezzi mountain huts.
This summit is a well-known lookout, as it dominates the extended glaciers at its feet and a number of high summit, including Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso.

I've been there a few years ago in the winter season, during a 'training session' which should peak in climbing the Gran Paradiso. But the weather was rather bad overall, and we cancelled our plan. Thanks for showing me the great view from this point (we couldn't see further than about 50 meters when we were there).
