While taking these photos on the summit of mount Fravort, I was thinking of the verses
"Spargi in terra quella pace
Che regnar tu fai nel ciel"
ending the prayer to the moon "Casta Diva" in Bellini's Norma. A piece of music so sublime that once a French composer asserted: I would throw away all whole production, had I only the Casta Diva in exchange...
"Strew on Earth that peace, that you let reign in Heaven" is the English translation of the sentence.
That of yesterday was a routine ascent, in which I carried only the old Powershot G9. I wanted to leave even that at home, since I did not suspect that above the thick clouds under which I had set off there could be clear weather. The six photos involved were taken leaning the compact camera at the summer cairn, 15 sec, f/4, ISO 200, 35 mm equivalent.
After the two works of the previous week, one showing barely white clouds for the k-th time, and the other showing the Fravort for the n-th time, this one summarizes both cliches at one time... As a consequence, the risk to be banned from the community due to boredom has never been as high as this time!
