Yes, the panorama is checked by several horizontal control points.
I think that most deceiving is the "curved" shadow line right of the moon, but consider that here we are in the descending phase of the Alps. Look how brighter is the 2334 m Cima Dodici in comparison to the 3342 m Marmolada...
